CMS Interoperability Planning

For the 23 counties currently participating in CalMHSA’s semi-statewide electronic health record program, CalMHSA is building a robust interoperable data warehousing solution that not only helps counties meet state and federal regulatory requirements but provides a viable solution for enterprise data collection and reporting. By offering new ways to access electronic health information, interoperability allows for greater care coordination and improves the delivery of effective, patient-centered care.

CalMHSA’s new interoperable capacity will align with both the California Data Exchange Framework and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Interoperability and Patient Access final rule.
